Balda Super Baldina

This is my restored Super Baldina. Looked awful when I got it. The leatherette was missing from the entire front of the camera and the only thing holding it on the back was a metal plate bolted there with focusing scales printed on it. Pretty much all the stuff that should have been covered by leatherette was rusted. All the Leather has been replaced with cordovan kidskin (which I really like, and which wears better than any other type of leather I know of). I did some brassing (to get rid of corrosion) and it has new bellows. As usual, the camera has been cleaned, lubricated and adjusted and everything works as it should.

This particular camera has a Meyer Trioplan lens. When I can find a junk donor with a Schneider Xenon or a Zeiss Tessar that's in good shape, that will change though.

One thing I learned from this one is that, when you replace a carrying strap (this one didn't have one), leave enough space for the wire bails to slip between the layers of leather, so it can fold flat. I riveted the ends of the strap too closely to the bails.
